Adele, Katy B, Tinie Tempah, Elbow, PJ Harvey to play Mercury Prize ceremony: All nominees to perform for first time

Adele and Katy B have been confirmed to play the Mercury Prize ceremony in London next week.

The singers will join a bill which includes performances from all 12 of this year's nominees, marking a first for the Mercury Prize ceremony since its inception in 1992.

Tinie Tempah, Elbow, Everything Everything, Anna Calvi, Ghostpoet, Gwilym Simcock, James Blake, Metronomy, PJ Harvey and King Creosote & Jon Hopkins will also perform.

The BBC will be providing extensive coverage of the September 6 event across its television, radio and online formats.

BBC Two and the BBC HD channel will broadcast the ceremony from 10pm, while 6 Music will be live from the event from 8pm.

Lauren Laverne will host the BBC coverage, while Jools Holland will present the main awards show.

Albums released between July 2010 and July 2011 are eligible for this year's £20,000 prize, which is voted for by a panel of music industry leaders and experts.
