Dappy has said that Amy Winehouse is "immortal".

The N-Dubz rapper backed plans for a tribute to the singer, who died last month at the age of 27, at this year's MOBO Awards ceremony in Glasgow on October 5.

Dappy told BBC Newsbeat: "She's immortal. Forget a moment of silence in my house. We [will] shut the whole thing down for Winehouse."

He added that he wrote a lyric in Winehouse's memory which will feature on his next single. Dappy previously revealed plans to get a giant tattoo of Winehouse's name on his arm.

Of the planned MOBOs tribute, Tinchy Stryder said: "As long as they have [Winehouse's goddaughter] Dionne Bromfield in it somehow then we are good.

"I would do a rap as a mark of respect but I'd like to watch and take it in because I love her music. I wouldn't just want it to be a rap because it needs to be something deeper than that."

Bromfield said at the weekend that she was disappointed that certain artists had not joined the tribute to Winehouse at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Jessie J leads this year's MOBO nominations with five nods. Adele, Tinie Tempah, and Wretch 32 all have four nominations.
