The producer will be joined by Jackson's brother Tito and eldest sister Rebbie for the shows, which will be titled 'A Jackson Named Michael: Remembering A Legend'.
The tour will consist of the trio speaking to an audience about their memories of the late King of Pop and reveal never-before-told details of the music legend's life and career.
Talking about the show, Gest explained in a statement: "The majority of the show will be reminiscences and stories about Michael that the public has never heard.
"I will also unveil a treasure trove of film clips that were not included in my upcoming film."
Jackson's mother Katherine has endorsed the tour, saying that she is "proud" of Gest's film and has branded it a "tremendous achievement".
Katherine added: "This is not my story, but the story of many of Michael's friends' recollections. David funded this whole film and worked 16 months on putting it together and I believe Michael's fans as well as the world will love it."
The tour will travel across venues in the UK, Europe and Australia.
The UK leg will start in March 2012 and will stop off at venues in London, Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester, Reading, Newcastle, Cardiff, Bristol, Plymouth, Dublin, Belfast, York, Edinburgh and Glasgow among others.
It will follow the tribute concert organised by Jackson's mother at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium on October 8.
The show will include performances from Christina Aguilera, Leona Lewis, JLS, Cee Lo Green and Beyoncé.
