The 'Price Tag' singer told BBC Newsbeat that she had to have a bone transplant as part of reconstructive surgery after falling off the stage during rehearsals in June.
Jessie J said: "None of my ankle bone is now mine. I've now had someone else's put in.
"It's worse than people think it is because I haven't really gone into detail about it. If I can never wear heels again then I'll just have to get some bad boy trainers. It is what it is."
The singer had to cancel planned performances at Lovebox and T in the Park, but managed to perform at festivals including Glastonbury from a throne while wearing a protective boot.

Jessie J explained: "I've had metal plates and bolts and all sorts. You have your moments when you feel like, 'I can do this, I can do this'.
"You have your moments where sometimes people don't realise how much pain you're in and you can't tell them.
"It's slowed me down a bit but now I'm fighting. Now I'm getting better. I'm coming back and even harder."
Jessie J this week walked around for the first time without crutches since her injury.
