Patrick Wolf has thanked fans for an "amazing year" during his last festival appearance of 2011 at Bestival.

The 'Time of My Life' musician played songs from his most recent album Lupercalia as well as a few old favourites during his Big Top set.

Greeted with a fervent reception, Wolf told festival-goers: "This has been an amazing year for me and my band... thanks so much for keeping us on stage."

He later added: "I'm gonna cry," before joking: "You horrible people, you're going to make me cry!"

Wolf entertained the crowd by dancing on top of the DJ booth during 'Together' and stepping down from the stage to greet the front row during 'The City' - in which he also changed the lyrics to reference Bestival's home on the Isle of Wight.

He also dedicated 'The Falcons' to anyone who had been made redundant during the year, saying: "It's a song about looking up, about chinning up."

Patrick Wolf's Bestival setlist was as follows:
  • Armistice
  • House
  • William
  • Time of My Life
  • The Libertine
  • Accident and Emergency
  • Bermondsey Street
  • The Falcons
  • Together
  • The Magic Position
  • The City
