The singer-songwriter claimed that his new release is based on the sound of the rapper's third studio album The Marshall Mathers LP.
Speaking on XFM, Sheeran said: "From a sound point of view, Eminem's Marshall Mathers LP, or Damien Rice's O."
The 'A Team' star also declared that 'Brown Eyed Girl' legend Van Morrison has influenced his work.
"There's a Van Morrison record with The Chieftains that he did called Irish Heartbeat. I think that's incredible," he added.
Sheeran, 19, recently announced that he will embark on a UK tour next year.
