The 63-year-old singer, who is best known for hit songs such as 'Bat Out of Hell' and 'You Took the Words Right Out of my Mouth', said that he has already chosen the songs that he will perform in a music medley at the sporting event.
Meat Loaf told the Herald Sun: "They tried to tell me what to sing - nobody can tell me what to sing. They're dreaming. We've got 12 minutes, so I'm doing pieces of five songs. It's going to be cool."

The musician also admitted to fainting on stage in the US last week after initially denying it, saying: "I did faint, because I have asthma. But I've been using oxygen since the '60s.
"I remember being in Melbourne in 1978 and the front page of the paper... had a photo of me on the ground with a guy laying over me with an oxygen mask. It said 'Meat Loaf close to death'. The world has more important things to worry about than whether I have asthma or not."
Meat Loaf will turn 64 during his visit to Australia and said: "How will I celebrate? I will lock myself in my hotel room and not let anyone near me. I hate all that stuff."
