The band's frontman revealed that contrary to reports, the group have not been asked to appear and that they would decline such an offer if it ever arose.
Jagger told the BBC: "Bryan Adams said, 'Whatever you do, don't do any Olympic openings', after he did the opening of the winter games in Canada.
"It was so cold, and he had to wear this bizarre suit. That's not going to happen here - it would just rain."
The singer also criticised the handover segment at the Beijing 2008 games, which saw Leona Lewis and Jimmy Page perform Led Zeppelin's 'Whole Lotta Love' while David Beckham launched footballs off the top of a red double decker bus.
He added: "It wasn't a brilliant piece of theatre when they left the stadium with a London bus with Jimmy Page on it. I don't want to be on that bus when it arrives in London."
The Rolling Stones have announced plans to re-release a remastered edition of their 1978 album Some Girls this November.
