Kasabian want to be as big as Adele with new album 'Velociraptor!'

By
Kasabian have said that they hope their fourth studio album can raise their international profile.

The band are hoping for huge sales with their new record Velociraptor!, after being inspired by the success of Adele, who has sold over ten million copies of her album 21 worldwide this year.

Guitarist and songwriter Serge Pizzorno told the Daily Star: "Adele shows that people can still sell records in a time where no-one buys records anymore - good on her.

"She comes across as a real sweetheart. I tip my hat to her. Adele is so refreshing as she's cool and not the archetypal character – she's not like J.Lo or Christina [Aguilera].

"We're blowing up around the world and this album could be the one to take us to new places."

Pizzorno also reflected on the band's trip to Japan earlier this year following the earthquake and tsunami which caused devastation in the country.

He explained: "In Japan everyone was so sweet to us. They were really grateful that we went back to see them.

"They've always been amazing to us and people thanked us for being there. We wanted to show our support right back."

Kasabian will release their new album Velociraptor! on September 19 in the UK.
