Coldplay named 'Best Festival Headliner of 2011'

Coldplay have been named the 'Best Festival Headliner of 2011' in a poll.

The band were awarded the accolade by BBC 6Music listeners, who had to decide a winner out of 21 potential contenders.

Coldplay's headline slot at Glastonbury won them the title, while The National's Latitude set came in second.

Muse's performance of The Origin Of Symmetry and Pulp's reunion festival tour set at Reading and Leeds polled at third and fourth respectively.

The Cure's performance at last weekend's Bestival came in as a last-minute contender and rounded out the top five.

Further down the list, Beyoncé's energetic Glastonbury show polled in seventh place,
Björk's Bestival appearance came 16th and Kanye West's Big Chill slot landed at 20.
