Lady GaGa, Katy Perry, Adele lead MTV EMA 2011 nominations

Lady GaGa leads the nominations for this year's MTV Europe Music Awards.
The 'You and I' singer has been named in six categories including 'Best Song' for 'Born This Way', 'Best Live Act' and 'Best Female'.


Katy Perry trails with four nominations and will battle GaGa in the 'Best Song', 'Best Female', 'Best Pop Act' and 'Best Live Act' categories.
Adele scoops a 'Best Female' nomination along with Beyoncé and Jennifer Lopez. The 21 songstress will fight for 'Best Video' and 'Best Song' for her January hit 'Rolling In The Deep'.
The Brit School alum will also vie for the 'Best UK and Ireland Act' title, going up against Coldplay, Florence + the Machine, Jessie J and Kasabian.
Justin Bieber will be fighting solo for the men in the 'Best Pop Act' category, which also includes GaGa, Perry, Rihanna and Britney Spears.
'Best Alternative' nods go to Arcade Fire, Arctic Monkeys, My Chemical Romance, The Strokes and Thirty Seconds To Mars, while the 'Best World Stage' gong will be fought for by Snoop Dogg and Enrique Iglesias amongst ten nominees.
The MTV Europe Music Awards will take place at Belfast's Odyssey Arena on November 6 and will be broadcast on MTV.
