The lead singer of the Jesus and Mary Chain uploaded the track called 'Black and Blues' to Soundcloud and the band's official Twitter feed linked to the track.
"What I've been wasting my time with lately," Reid wrote under the two-and-a-half-minute song.

After The Jesus and Mary Chain split at the end of the 1990s, Reid formed Freeheat, who released the Don't Worry Be Happy and Retox EPs and album Back on the Water.
Reid went on to release the solo singles 'Song for a Secret' and 'Dead End Kids', before reforming The Jesus and Mary Chain with his brother William in 2007.
The Jesus and Mary Chain will this year re-issue their entire back catalogue.
Double CD and DVD versions of their first two albums Psychocandy and Darklands were released yesterday.
