The singer's upcoming LP was due to be unveiled in November, but she has now decided to continue to work on new material and has pushed back its release schedule to 2012.
The X Factor champion wrote on Twitter: "Just wanted to update everyone on the album! I'm feeling so inspired right now and have decided to continue recording!
"I have a collection of songs that I'm so in love with and I no there's more to be born so it means the album will come early next year (sic)."
The 26-year-old previously confessed that her record label is scared about her new album, as she has been experimenting with different sounds.
Lewis performed the album's title track 'Glassheart' at a recent gig at London's G-A-Y nightclub.
The star's single 'Collide', which features Ministry of Sound DJ Avicii, reached number four on the UK chart earlier this month.
