Shakira wins Latin Grammy 'Person of the Year'

The singer will receive the honour on November 9 - a day before the Latin Grammys - with a tribute gala held in Las Vegas.
The star, who is also nominated for three Grammy awards including 'Album of the Year' for Sale el Sol, has picked up the coveted prize for her "artistic contributions" and "philanthropic contributions".
In a statement, Shakira said: "It is truly an honour to be in the company of some of the greatest artists and legends of Latin Music."
The 'Hips Don't Lie' singer has picked up a total of seven Latin Grammys to date, including 'Song of the Year' for 'La Tortura' and 'Album of the Year' for Fijación Oral Vol. 1.
She has also picked up five number one albums on the Latin Billboard chart.
The Latin Grammys will air live from the Mandalay Bay Events Centre on November 10.
