Tony Bennett has broken a US chart record with his new album.

The 85-year-old topped the Billboard 200 with his latest offering Duets II, making him the oldest living artist to top the US album chart.

The disc sold 179,000 copies in its opening week and marks Bennett's first ever US number one album.

Duets II has received much attention due to its inclusion of one of Amy Winehouse's last recordings before she tragically passed away aged 27 in July.

The duet, titled 'Body And Soul', charted at 87 on last week's Hot 100, making Bennett the oldest living artist to be included on the listings.

The jazz icon's Lady GaGa duet 'The Lady Is A Tramp' will serve as the record's next single, with a video due to premiere on October 3.

Duets II sees Bennett collaborate with Mariah Carey, Michael Bublé, Aretha Franklin and Queen Latifah among others.
