Coldplay have revealed that tracks by Adele and Lady GaGa have made them jealous.
The band admitted that when they are impressed by other artists' songs, they aim to write something better.

Chris Martin told Q magazine: "When I hear Kings of Leon's 'Use Somebody' or Adele's 'Someone Like You' or Lady GaGa's 'Bad Romance', it's like, 'F**k, that's good, I've got to try and do something better than that'."
He added: "It's constant competition but born out of love. Or Jay-Z's 'Empire State Of Mind'. Jay revealed that when he was playing stadiums with us.
"Why would you do that to us? Why would you open a gig and then play a song that's better than any of our songs, you f**king b**tard? Why would you do that to someone you claim to be friends with?"
He concluded: "But then it also drives you to write better songs."
Coldplay will release their new album Mylo Xyloto in the UK on October 24 and the US on October 25.
