The legendary 'Music' singer has signed a deal to perform at Super Bowl XLVI, according to sports site SB Nation.
Spokespeople for the NFL have declined to comment on the report, while Madonna's representatives told Entertainment Weekly that there is "nothing to confirm at this point".
Black Eyed Peas performed at the event's half-time show last year.
The 2012 Super Bowl will take place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on February 5.
Madonna revealed recently that the lead single for her upcoming 12th studio album is likely to be released in February or March 2012. The album is then expected to be released in the following spring.
Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones and Bruce Springsteen are among the artists who have performed at the Super Bowl half-time show in the past.
