The N-Dubz rapper revealed that his first solo LP No Regrets will send out a positive message to his fans and that it will contain some piano and acoustic elements.
The 24-year-old told the Daily Star: "It's going to be barrier-breaking, anthemic, power to the people, never give up on yourself music.
"I'm going to help people who've felt low in life by showing them the positives. I've found the positives in my life, that's why it's called No Regrets.
"A lot of tracks have no rapping, it's just me at the piano and acoustic guitar but I'll keep a few bangers for the hip-hop heads. The lyrics will be controversial."
Dappy also criticised the current state of urban music and promised that his new material will be more truthful than most of the current chart offenders.
He added: "A lot of people in hip-hop and R&B are narrow-minded, too afraid to expand their knowledge of music, that's why there's so much bubblegum rap out there. But I'll be going deep."
Dappy's debut album No Regrets is expected to be released before the end of the year.
Dappy and Tinchy Stryder walked home with the prize for 'Best Video' for their collaboration 'Spaceship' at last night's MOBO Awards in Glasgow.
