The Detox rapper revealed that he was inspired by Guetta's live set, which he attended after the pair teamed up to create the new Beats by Dre Mixr headphones.
"He's passionate about what he's doing. I flew all the way to Ibiza, Spain, to check him out, and I saw the show that he put together, and I was blown away, so who better to represent our DJ headphone?" Dre explained to MTV News.
"From the beginning, just the energy that he brought and all the effects that he had. He wasn't just DJing and spinning records; he put on a show, and I took that home with me. I fell in love with the show."
Dre recently sold a 51% share of his headphones company for £191 million ($310m) to Asian smartphone brand HTC.
Earlier this week, Guetta released two teasers for his upcoming music video with Usher for 'Without You'.
