Dan Treacy is reportedly in a critical condition after surgery to remove a blood clot from his brain.
The Television Personalities frontman has been in an induced coma for 48 hours after the procedure.
In a statement to NME, his bandmates TexasBob Juarez, Mike Stone and Arnau Obiols said: "The band is very much concerned for our dear friend and Brother Daniel at this time, and we are all praying for a recovery."
It is not known how Treacy sustained the injury, but police are reportedly investigating the incident.
Television Personalities rose to fame in 1981 with their debut album And Don't the Kids Just Love It, which featured the single 'I Know Where Syd Barrett Lives'.
The band has changed lineup several times since then, with Treacy being the only ever-present member. Their most recent album was last year's A Memory is Better Than Nothing.
Treacy was celebrated by Connecticut band MGMT in the track 'Song For Dan Treacy' on last year's Congratulations.
