Adele, Arctic Monkeys, Bjork pick up AIM Independent Music Awards nods

Adele and Arctic Monkeys are among a number of acts nominated for this year's AIM Independent Music Awards.
The XL Recordings acts have been recognised for the awards, which are only eligible for artists who are signed to an independent label.


Adele has been nominated for two awards including 'Best Difficult Second Album', where she faces competition from Friendly Fires, Bon Iver, Fleet Foxes and Toddla T.
She has also been named in the category for 'Most Played Independent Act' along with The xx, Arctic Monkeys and Vampire Weekend.
Frank Turner, Warpaint, Enter Shikari and Bring Me The Horizon have received nominations for 'Best Live Act', while Horizon will also battle The Horrors, Caro Emerald and SBTRKT for 'Independent Breakthrough Of The Year'.
Bjork will receive the 'Outstanding Contribution' award, while Domino Records founder Laurence Bell will be handed the 'Pioneer' award.
The ceremony will take place at London's Floridita on November 10 and will be hosted by BBC DJs Steve Lamacq and Huw Stephens.
