All four original members - lead singer Ian Brown, John Squire, Gary 'Mani' Mounfield and Alan 'Reni' Wren - have allegedly reformed the 'Fools Gold' Madchester group.
According to The Sun, the band have called a press conference in London for next Tuesday to reveal full plans for a 2012 tour.
"It has been a tough few months getting everything sorted out, but the outcome has all the lads smiling again," a supposed insider claimed.
Singer Brown and guitarist Squire strenuously ruled out a Stone Roses reunion when rumours first materialised in 2009.
Though the pair remained silent when speculation re-emerged earlier this year, bassist 'Mani' said that he was "disgusted" by the claims.
The rock band recently authorised a new biography to chart the life of the Stone Roses, from their rise to fame with their 1989 self-titled debut album to details surrounding their split in 1996.
Liam Gallagher and Shaun Ryder have been vocal in their hope that the group will reform.
