The 'Magnificent' rapper suffered two separate seizures on Friday while flying from Ford Lauderdale to Memphis.
During the first flight, Ross's plane made an emergency landing to enable him to seek medical treatment. After being given the all-clear Ross hired a private jet to continue his journey, only to suffer a second seizure, which landed him in hospital.
A spokesperson for the Greensboro Coliseum Complex has confirmed to Fox affiliate WGHP that Ross cancelled his performance yesterday less than an hour before the concert was due to begin.
Nicki Minaj is one of many in the entertainment industry to speak out in support of the rapper.
"We actually been talking about him and praying for him on the trailer because he's such a crucial part of hip-hop right now and we're just hoping he's healthy," Minaj told MTV News upon hearing the news. "That's all we can do is pray and hope that he gets some rest and comes back stronger."
Representatives for Ross have yet to disclose what caused the seizures and are simply saying that he is recovering "fine".
The rapper will release his fifth studio album God Forgives, I Don't on December 13.
