The N-Dubz rapper admitted that he may hold back his first LP No Regrets until fans really want to buy it.
The 24-year-old told the Daily Star: "I want people to be crying out for my album. I'll only be happy to release it after two number one singles in a row.
"If my next single 'Rockstar' only makes number two then, boy, the two singles after that had better hit number one."
Dappy recently described his debut solo disc as "barrier-breaking" and "anthemic", saying that the music will show people the "positive" side of life.
The star will embark on his first ever UK solo tour later this year, starting in Norwich on December 9.
