The reunited band, who will play two shows in Manchester on June 29 and 30, have been booked to top the bill at next year's V Festival, the Daily Star reports.
The tabloid claimed that the rock four-piece will also headline Vince Power's revived Phoenix festival, which is thought to be taking place next August.
The Stone Roses' festival dates will coincide with their world tour plans and will give fans another opportunity to catch the British act performing their classic hits, as well as new material.
Asked during yesterday's reunion press conference conference about rumours of festival sets, drummer Reni told Digital Spy: "We can't say at the moment."
Frontman Ian Brown added: "They're just rumours. There might be."
The singer also said that the new shows had nothing to do with money.
He explained: "The money's always been on the table. We could have took that money any time we wanted - every year, two, three times a year we've had offers, all the way down the line."
V Festival will take place at Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire over the weekend of August 18 and 19, 2012.
