The singer gave an acoustic rendition of 'Slowly', which features on his debut album Letters.
Discussing his creative input on the record, which he co-wrote, Cardle said: "If it doesn't go well - and hopefully it will - I suppose I can half-blame myself.
"If someone gave me a load of songs to record then I could have easily had a go at them instead! Having made it this way means I believe in the album a lot more than I otherwise would."
Letters, which is out this week, is on course for a place in the top three on Sunday's Official Chart.
Cardle recently admitted that he preferred being on record label Columbia to Syco, claiming: "Syco's a very pop label and I know X Factor is quite pop, but I'm not pop."
