The singer, who was signed to the Cherrytree division of Island Records, announced that he had parted ways with the label via his official Twitter page.
He wrote: "The awkward moment when you have to change your status to 'unsigned'. #sadday. (sic)"
Frankmusik - real name Vincent Frank - scored a top 15 hit with his debut album Complete Me, but his follow-up Do it in the AM failed to chart upon its release last month.
The LP's spinoff singles 'Do it in the AM' and 'No I.D.' also failed to reach the Top 40.
Frankmusik recently opened for the US leg of Erasure's world tour after producing their latest album Tomorrow's World.
