The 'Super Bass' rapper spoke to MTV News in character as her alter ego, the Female Weezy, to reveal the story behind the track.
"You know what's interesting about that song? Nicki originally did that song for Wayne two and a half years ago," she explained.
"It was just lingering, and then she gave it to Rick Ross. I think it's hot."
Minaj also wished Ross a speedy recovery from his recent seizures, which have forced him to cancel several scheduled shows.
"We actually been talking about him and praying for him on the trailer because he's such a crucial part of hip-hop right now and we're just hoping he's healthy. That's all we can do is pray and hope that he gets some rest and comes back stronger," Minaj said.
Minaj recently insisted that she is "being selective" about the tracks on her next album, the follow-up to 2010's Pink Friday.
