The group's drummer claimed that they don't feel pressure to score number one albums, and said Coldplay would continue to make music regardless of its chart success.
Asked if an underperforming album would see an end to the band, Champion told Digital Spy: "Not at all! We're very happy with what we've done for this record.
"I've got no idea when it's going to be over and we don't seen an end to the band. I'm making the most it while I still can and working as hard as possible."
"[The label] don't put any pressure on us," he continued. "We feel like we want to work as hard as we can while we still can. The pressure to keep going is self-inflicted; we're fully aware that there are millions of people who'd love to be in our position."
It was recently reported that Coldplay had beaten Adele's record for the year's highest album pre-order sales.
Their new album Mylo Xyloto is out October 24.
