Labrinth has said that being signed to Simon Cowell's record label has been a good thing for his career.
The producer and songwriter was asked by Metro if he would have been better off being affiliated with 'something trendier' than Cowell's Syco.

Labrinth said: "It's worked in my favour. He's a big guy in the music business and a great businessman."
He added: "I'm doing my own thing. I'm releasing music as I want to, producing it how I want to and getting the videos how I want them.
"They don't get too involved in what I do and they're very supportive. It's good to have people who are great at business being involved."
Labrinth recently said that Cowell was "excited" about getting a namecheck in his recent single 'Earthquake'.
Of his working relationship with Cowell, he said: "I wouldn't call Simon my boss, he's more of an investor. Simon might tell some of his artists what to do, but he doesn't do that with me. The best advice he's given me is to be myself."
