Lionel Richie has announced plans to release his first country album.
The 'Hello' singer will release the new record - named after his birthplace, Tuskegee - in March 2012. It will feature duets with several country stars including Tim McGraw, Shania Twain and Kenny Chesney.

Richie will perform at the upcoming 45th annual Country Music Association Awards on November 9. He will perform duets with Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker and Little Big Town.
"Over a period of time, I realised that the songs that I was writing translated to country," Richie said in a press release. "As a songwriter, I didn't really start out thinking I was country; I was thinking I was R&B.
"It was just a natural progression. I am from Tuskegee, Alabama; I am a country boy. It just felt right to do this."
The CMA Awards will also see performances from the likes of Taylor Swift, Sugarland, Miranda Lambert, Lady Antebellum and Keith Urban.
Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley will co-host the 45th annual CMA Awards live on Wednesday, November 9 at 8/7c on ABC.
