The band are said to be digging out old recordings they made with frontman Freddie Mercury before he passed away in 1991 to include on a new album.
Guitarist Brian May told the Daily Star that he has been "going through some old drawers" to find unreleased songs that feature Mercury, as well as planning a new Queen musical.
May explained: "As well as seeing what we can unearth, we want to do a new musical to follow We Will Rock You.
"The songs are there, it's just a question of finding time to get the right production."
It was recently announced that Queen will receive the 'Global Icon' award at this year's MTV EMAs and will perform at the show in Belfast on November 6.
