Red Hot Chili Peppers have announced plans to play three huge shows across the UK and Ireland next summer.

The band will play Knebworth Park on June 23, Sunderland's Stadium Of Light on June 24 and Dublin's Croke Park on June 26.

The three shows will be in support of their tenth studio album I'm With You, which reached number one on the UK chart back in September.

Knebworth Park has played host to a collection of legendary concerts, including headline shows from Oasis and Robbie Williams.

The venue has a potential capacity of over 200,000 people and is annually used as the location for Sonisphere Festival.

Tickets for the three new shows will go on sale from 9am on November 4.

The new summer dates will follow the group's 10-date UK and Ireland arena tour later this month, which starts at Dublin's O2 Arena on November 4 and finishes at Birmingham's LG Arena on November 20.
