The Florence + the Machine singer said that she is happy with the amount of interest she receives from the press, claiming she usually goes outside "unnoticed" by the general public.
She told Digital Spy: "It's funny with Adele, the level of fame I have now means I can quite easily slip by in everyday life unnoticed.
"I don't really get hassled by the tabloids, which is a position I'd really like to keep. That huge success means you have to give up such a large amount of your life."
Welch continued: "I already feel like mine is planned out for the next two years, so I don't think I'd like to get any more famous! That said, Adele's success was so unpredictable."
Welch recently described her new album Ceremonials as "enormous", adding: "[The songs are] pretty big. I was slightly worried, because I was like 'All the sounds are enormous on this record'."
