The group will release their second single 'Gotta Be You' in the UK on November 13, ahead of their debut album Up All Night.
The five-piece filmed the video at Lake Placid, New York early last month and told Digital Spy that they were scared of being eaten by crocodiles.
The outtakes see the guys performing a freestyle song about benches among many other things, while another scene sees Zayn Malik chat to a giant teddy bear.
'Gotta Be You' follows the boys' debut single 'What Makes You Beautiful', which topped the UK singles chart back in September.
One Direction are expected to perform their new single live on the X Factor results show later this month.
Their first album Up All Night will be released on November 21 and will face chart competition from Rihanna, Westlife, Kate Bush and The Saturdays.
