The Washington DC native, who has been called the "new Kanye West" by producer Mark Ronson, told Elle that he goes for The Weeknd when playing a song to make out with his girl.
He said: "'What You Want' by The Weeknd. That song just makes you wanna hold your girl. There's no more talking when that song comes on."
As for his guilty pleasure song, Wale chose George Michael's 'Faith'.
He explained: "If I'm in Wendy's or something and George Michael's 'Faith' comes on, I might tap my foot, just a little bit. [Starts humming the opening riff.] You got to! How you pass that up?"
The 'Focused' rapper has said that he likes "to make music for regular people".
"I see myself as a fan of hip-hop who was lucky enough to get a record deal. I just like to make music for regular people," he said.
"What I do more or less is tell stories about reality, but not in a preachy way. I like to keep it fun, man."
Wale's second album Ambition is out in stores now.
