The group will open Spears's 'Femme Fatale' tour at Manchester's MEN Arena on November 6, following a summer supporting Justin Bieber in South America.
Announcing the news on Twitter, Spears said: "So the boys from @thewantedmusic came to my Wembley show & we hung out backstage! Love them!"

She added: "I've asked them to open my show in Manchester on Sunday. Who's coming? Going to be a lot of fun!! -Brit"
The Wanted band member Nathan Sykes posted: "Lovely to see @britneyspears the other day, bring on sunday!!!"
The band's official Twitter added: "How crazy is this gonna be? Us and Britney!"
The Wanted recently revealed that they're hoping to support Bieber again for his US tour in 2012, when they aim to crack the American music market.
Meanwhile, promoters of Spears's 'Femme Fatale' tour have been criticised for offering reduced tickets for the shows on online voucher stores.
