The Australian country singer, who is best known for hit singles such as 'Days Go By' and 'Somebody Like You', has now been forced to cancel his performance at the All for the Hall benefit concert for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum on January 18 next year.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Urban will have a minor medical procedure to remove a polyp from his vocal cords later this month and will then spend an undetermined amount of time on vocal rest.
Urban had agreed to host the All for the Hall show at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena alongside performers such as Rascal Flatts, Vince Gill and Alison Krauss.
He will reportedly still honour his planned one-song performances for the rest of the year, but all other appearances will be rescheduled.

'Rolling in the Deep' singer Adele was recently forced to cancel all performances for the rest of the year to have surgery on a haemorrhaged vocal cord.
After the announcement was made, her spokesperson dismissed rumours that she had throat cancer as "100% false".
