The singer made the announcement in his blog on The Huffington Post, where he admitted he is still a "vinyl junkie" but is currently experimenting with "digitalisation".
Speaking about his new project, Pritchard explained: "I'm working on something at the moment with some very different production, I'll post it as soon as it's ready, it's sounding massive."
He added: "I've never done anything like it, it's dance music essentially."
Pritchard recently confessed The Kooks lost their sense of "identity" after touring their second album and had to escape the UK to write their third cut.
The band released their new record Junk Of The Heart in the UK back in September, which went on to reach number ten on the album chart.
