Crosby, Stills and Nash have been announced as a headline act at Bluesfest 2012.
The folk rock group, who are best known for hit songs such as 'Ohio' and 'Teach Your Children', will play at next year's blues and roots festival in Byron Bay at Easter along with British ska punk band The Specials and folk-pop act Donovan.
The event's director Peter Noble told AAP that Bluesfest does and will continue to "deliver the goods" to music fans.
"With our first announcement we hit hard, presenting some of the best guitarists on the planet and much more," he added. "This announcement mixes it up from absolute legends to some of the most superb roots artists performing today."
He also said that more acts will be announced over the next few days. Recently rumoured performers have included Earth Wind and Fire, The Pogues and John Butler Trio.
Last month, it was revealed that The Who musician Roger Daltrey would be performing songs from his musical Tommy at Bluesfest.
His bandmate Pete Townshend said that Daltrey had his blessing to perform without him and insisted that he would "be there in spirit".
Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello and BB King were the headline acts of the 2011 festival.
