The band will headline the opening night of the event at Donington Park, which will take place from June 8-10.
Black Sabbath were previously announced as headliners for the festival, alongside Metallica, who will perform their Black Album in its entirety.
Last year's festival was headlined by System Of A Down, Linkin Park and Def Leppard.
Tickets for the 2012 event will go on sale tomorrow (November 18) at 9am. Further acts are expected to be confirmed in the near future.
