The gig was part of the group's current Doolittle tour, where they have played their 1989 second album at 19 of America's secondary cities.
Bass player Kim Deal told the crowd at the start of the gig: "We're doing a lot of songs that we haven't done in a while - our setlist is like, two pages, so just get comfortable."
They proceeded to play 31 songs from their back catalogue at the Music Box venue in Hollywood, Los Angeles.
Their two-hour set started with 'Bone Machine', before they jokingly laughed on stage after messing up the intro. Joey Santiago also played his guitar part on 'Vamos' on his iPhone.
Pixies will complete their tour with gigs at Napa Uptown Theatre tonight (November 20) and tomorrow at the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium (November 21).
