Island Def Jam's Senior Vice President Shawn 'Pecas' Costner confirmed on his Twitter that the 'I Love College' rapper is now part of the Def Jam roster.
However, SRC's CEO Steve Rifkind clarified on his Twitter that Roth is still with SRC, but has teamed up with Def Jam for the release of his upcoming album.
SRC apparently will also relaunch Loud Records, which shut down in 2002.
Rifkind wrote: "Blogs got it wrong! @asherroth still part of the SRC Fam. SRC team up w/ DefJam. Album out 2012 @therealpecas @steverifkind #SRC/Loud/DefJam."
Roth, who said he has no plans to retire, will be joining notable rappers including Big Boi, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Ludacris, Nas and Rick Ross at Def Jam.
His new album Is This Too Orange is expected to be released in 2012.
Fans can hear his latest mixtape Pabst and Jazz on December 21, when it will be available on iTunes.
