The band headlined the festival's Pyramid Stage back in 2007, but the frontman has insisted that they would like a second chance to play the slot as they didn't feel they did their best first time around.
Asked by GQ magazine what he'd still like to achieve with the group, Turner said: "I mean, there's many things. There's a lot left, yeah. I'd really like another shot at headling Glastonbury. I don't think we got that quite right when we did it."
The 25-year-old also insisted that his recent side projects are not an indication that he is laying down foundations for a solo career.
He added: "The Submarine soundtrack wasn't me having aspirations to make a solo record and conquer the f**king world.
"My friend, Richard [Ayoade], had directed this wonderful film and he asked me to first of all do a few covers for it, and then it turned into a couple of original songs, and they weren't going anywhere in an Arctic Monkeys sorta world."
The Arctic Monkeys have previously revealed that they will not start work on the follow-up to their album Suck It And See until 2013.
