'Nickelblock' is a free programme from Aux.com that eliminates any quotes mentioning the Canadian band while someone uses their web browser.
Nickelback have been the subject of much online derision in recent weeks. In a poll on Tasetebuds.fm, the band beat the likes of Coldplay and Lady GaGa to top the list of 'biggest musical turnoffs'.
Fans of the Detroit Lions recently launched an online petition in the hopes of stopping Nickelback performing at their halftime show for Thanksgiving.
The band released their seventh studio album 'Here and Now' earlier this week, which contains the single 'When We Stand Together'.
