The ex-Modern Lovers frontman plays in February and March next year backed by regular drummer Tommy Larkins.
Richman said of his constant touring schedule: "Travelling and playing for new people in new places is one of my favourite things. It's great playing places that are off the beaten track.
"You can learn a lot when you play in a little town in Holland or Western Australia, and you learn different things than you would learn playing a big city."
He added: "Playing shows and making records keeps been getting easier and more fun."
Tickets for the new shows are priced at £15 and £20 for London and go on sale this Friday, November 25 at 9am.
The full 2012 UK tour dates are as follows:
- February 23 - Bangor, Hendre Hall
- February 25 - Leeds, Brudenell Social Club
- February 26 - Liverpool, Kazimier
- February 28 - Cardiff, Clwb Ifor Bach
- February 29 - London, Bush Hall
- March 1 - London, The Tabernacle
- March 2 - London, Union Chapel
Richman played four London venues last year. His last release was 2010's O Moon, Queen of Night on Earth.
