Kasabian: 'We have the same spirit as Oasis'

Kasabian have claimed that they have the same spirit as Oasis.
The band maintained that they are not trying to take the former Manchester rock group's place since their 2009 split, but conceded that their attitudes may be similar.

Frontman Tom Meighan told Shortlist: "Maybe we've got the same spirit as them, but we're a different band. They were one-offs. A phenomenon."
Guitarist Serge Pizzorno added: "We're not anything like them. It's an honour [to be compared to them], because Noel and Liam are why we're here, but musically we're nothing like them."
However, the pair admitted that they are surprised with Kasabian's success considering their strange concept ideas and choices.
In reference to their album West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum, Pizzorno joked: "With what we're into, we shouldn't really be as big as we are.
"You shouldn't get big off a concept record about madness where you're dressed as a priest on the cover."
Kasabian will begin their 14-date UK arena tour in Belfast on November 25 and have built a stage that will react to the crowd's applause during the shows.
The dates will be in support of their recent album Velociraptor!, which topped the UK chart back in September.
