Marina and the Diamonds: 'Katy Perry tour taught me a lot'

Marina and the Diamonds has revealed that she learnt a lot while touring with Katy Perry.

The singer, real name Marina Diamandis, recently toured with Perry on her 'California Dreams' tour and took the opportunity to analyse every aspect of the production.

"I think I relate to Katy because she fought really hard to get where she is right now," she told Stylist magazine.

"I chose to do the tour with her because I wanted to analyse everything. The production was amazing - it's one of the biggest tours in the world right now - and I learnt a lot from her."

Diamandis added that she no longer gets frustrated about being compared to other female perfomers.

She said: "I don't care anymore about the comparisons but I used to. As a female singer starting out, you'll always be grouped with other women. But once you've established your name as an individual, it doesn't happen."

Meanwhile, Diamandis has revealed on Twitter that her second album Electra Heart won't be released in February as she'd originally intended.
