Kylie Minogue accepts ARIA Hall of Fame induction

Kylie Minogue has been inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame.

The Australian singer, who is best known for hit singles such as 'Better the Devil You Know' and 'Spinning Around', accepted the award on stage at the 25th anniversary of the annual music awards in Sydney last night.

After being inducted by Prime Minister Julia Gillard, Minogue told the audience that she felt "amazement [that she is] still here [plus] gratitude, humility, wonderment and pride".

She thanked her long-term manager Terry Blamey, mentor Michael Gudinski and boyfriend Andres Velencoso, saying: "My boyfriend Andres... is in love with this country... you've made him feel very welcome."

Minogue admitted that her parents Ron and Carol had chosen to stay at home in Melbourne and watch the awards ceremony on TV, saying: "I invited them, but they don't like to make a fuss."

Children's entertainment group The Wiggles were also inducted into the Hall of Fame alongside Minogue.

Acts such as Gotye and Boy and Bear were particularly successful at the ARIA Awards 2011 last night.
