Melanie C plays guitar during live gig for the first time - video

Melanie C played the guitar live for the first time in concert during the opening night of her current European tour.

The singer kickstarted her string of concerts in Germany in support of her latest solo album The Sea, which was released in September.

Talking to the audience, the former Spice Girl said: "The next song is about some f**ker you can't get away from. It's called 'Burn'."

She then turned to grab her guitar and walked back to the microphone with much cheering from the crowd.

Melanie C joked: "It's just for show. I'm going to look at my fingers all the way through it and I'm going to go wrong! I'm going to take my ring off! I f**king knew they'd do that. Sorry about my French."

As she removed her ring she showed the audience her lucky charm made by her daughter, while laughing: "I'm just prolonging the agony further!"

She then nervously said: "I'm not really ready for this, but hey - f**k it! Don't film this one, don't put it on YouTube."

Melanie C will play two UK shows next month. The first will take place in Liverpool on December 4, while the second will be in London on December 9.
